HOW WE WERE FORMED

Until fairly recently it was necessary to build an airplane from plans or a kit if you wanted a model airplane to fly. With the advent of pre-built airplanes, i.e. ARF (almost-ready-to-fly) and ARC's (almost-ready to-cover) it is possible to have a flyable model in a fairly short time with a minimum of effort or experience required. Many in the hobby find that they would like to go beyond the ready-builts and build their own models but feel they lack the knowledge or experience required. For our club members we have established a club sponsored building program. The group meets regularly and builds a model that the group determines would be appropriate for them. Each member builds his own plane with the guidance of the instructors and sometimes with help from others in the group.

WHY SHOULD YOU PARCTICPATE

The most important point is that it is not necessary to have has any building experience to participate. The program is designed for and aimed at those who may never have glued two pieces of wood together so come on down and join in. The instruction, coffee, donuts, and camaraderie are all great.
